It was an unprecedented grand-slam victory for the swim team of St. Mary’s International Academy organised by PIPSSA (Private & International Prep Schools Sports Association). The event was held on the 17th of February 2018 at Makini School.


In the girls 8-9 category Angel Grace scooped gold in the 25 m backstroke race.

Jade Mwangi also excelled above all in the boys 50 m freestyle category 10=11 years.

Among the boys aged 10-11 Elie Yao Yao was overall best in the 25 m freestyle competition.

The schools fourth gold medal was won by Naython Omamo in another boys 25 metre freestyle race. His classmate Mwangi Gitonga trailed fourth behind Nyathan.

Scooping a silver medal in the boys 14-15 age group, 25 m backstroke was Lennox Ochieng.

Mwangi Gitonga did better in the 7 years and under boys 25 m breast stroke coming in 2nd to win a silver medal.

Also winning silver in the girls 7-and -under 25m backboard race was Tonia Misudia.

In the boys 14-15, Blex Onyango also did the school proud by meriting a silver in the 25metre free style race.


Four gold and four silvers already in the bag Angel Grace came through once again, this time winning a bronze medal in the years 8-9 girls 25 m freestyle race.
